SPANISH COURSES

Enrolment and centre's policies

Methods of payment:

You can enrol in person, online (clicleeds.cervantes.es) or by phone (paying with a credit/debit card) on 0113 246 1741. Reception is open Monday to Friday 09:30 – 20:30.

Enrolment and cancellation policy:
Before enrolling, students are requested to examine their personal commitments (family, employment, health, etc.) carefully as fees are non refundable under any circumstances once classes have started.

Tuition fees are refundable ONLY if requested by email at least 24 hours before the start of the first class of the course.

You can email your cancellation (e-mail: cenlee@cervantes.es ). Unfortunately we cannot accept cancellations by phone or regular mail.

In the event of a change of enrolment, course cancellation or any circumstance resulting in student course fees (full or partial) being held in credit, the Instituto Cervantes will offer to refund the relevant fees. Alternatively, if the student opts to hold the fees as credit, it can be held as an outstanding balance to be used to pay future enrolments.

Assessment test and registration:

Students who have studied Spanish in the past, and have never studied at Instituto Cervantes before, are required to take a Level Test before enrolling for General Spanish Language Courses or Special Courses.

There are two parts to the exam: Written and oral. The level test costs £12.50 but this is deducted from your course fee if you enrol within one year of taking the test.

In order to do a level test, the student should contact the Instituto Cervantes in Leeds in advance in order to arrange an appointment.

TEACHERS AND CLASSES

:
Teachers are not assigned to their classes until the week prior to the beginning of each course.

Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to reassign teachers after a course has started.

We cannot guarantee that students and their former classmates will be placed into the same class if there are two classes of the same level running simultaneously.

A follow-up course is always offered within the Academic Year for students currently enrolled in a class, even if it is not on the printed programme. A minimum of 5 students is required for courses to take place.

Generally, the minimum class size is five and the maximum is fourteen. Please enrol early or we may not be able to accommodate you at the time that best fits your schedule.

Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to cancel courses for which fewer than five students have registered. Students enrolled in a cancelled course will be notified and may transfer to another section of the same price range, providing it is not full, or request a full refund.

ATTENDANCE:

Attendance is the student's responsibility. If a student does not attend a class, the lesson cannot be made up at another time. Once classes begin there is no transferring between classes.

Please get a fellow student's telephone number or contact your teacher for homework in cases of absence. You can send an email to cenlee@cervantes.es writing the name of the teacher as the subject of your email.

Students are required to pass the last course of each level (Elementary 5, Intermediate 4, Advanced 5, Higher 6) in order to advance to the following level.

SECURITY AND CONFIDENCIALITY:

In accordance with the law, personal data supplied by the candidate will be incorporated in the records entitled ‘Gestión académica’, owned by the INSTITUTO CERVANTES, for the purpose of the effective management of the courses, as well as to inform them of the related to INSTITUTO CERVANTES certification and educational/training products, whether by physical or electronic means.
